Choir Alborada

The choire Alborada was founded on 1st October in 1986 with the guidance of István Nagy and included  13 members only.
At that time the aim was to experience the joy of singing togethet. However that aim changed soon due to the increasing number of members willing to join the group.
As the standard and the quality of the productions grew, paralelly grew the demand for a national qualification.
Consequently in 1989 the choire was awarded the silver medal at the national competition of "The Singing Country" and later in 2006 the gold medal with merit .

The choire considered its goal to be its development in the field of music, acquiring a deeper knowledge of the songs presented, community forming purposes, and also performing at the cultural events organized by the town. Alborada gives concerts mainly at religious, national, and local celebrations and events. The traditional concerts include the annual Christmas concert always for the great pleasure of the local audience. As a consequence of all the above the choire  had the opportunity to travel abroad several times and perform at the events organized by the twin cities. In Each case Alborada had great success.

The choice ot the repertoire adjusts to the vocal ability and musical requirements of the members. Due to the hard work throughout the years the choire has learnt to performe nearly 200 pieces of music.
Alborada ha rehearsals once a week and finances its spendings from either the membership fees or in case of foreign trips from the local authority's Cultural Fund.
Sponsors have also played a great role in financing international performances .
The age group of the choire ranges from 20-80, however the great majority is between the age of 30-60.

Alborada, the name of the choire is a foreign word meaning " a song of dawn" and  was chosen to everyone's great satisfaction.
